Our StoryIt all started with an old clawfoot bathtub-literally! Blessed with a gaggle of daughters (four in all), early on, my Mom tied aprons around my younger sister, Lisa, and me – born smack in the middle of the flock – and taught us how to cook. Through the years, Lisa and I spent so much time in the kitchen together that she once likened us to ballerinas twirling around the sink and stove hugging our bowls and spoons and pots and pans in our arms. While on a road trip in 2008, Lisa and I visited our dear friend, Terry, who prefers to dance her way around dusty consignment shops and cobweb encrusted antique barns. As we meandered down a quaint, store-lined street one afternoon, Terry spied a weathered old clawfoot tub through the window of a shop and hurried ahead to check out the treasures inside. Out of breath at the door from our haste to catch up, our noses informed our brains that this was not an "old curiosity shope;" it was a soap emporium. We instantly fell in love with the aroma of the homemade soap and sometime during the twelve-hour drive home to North Carolina, "Little Sisters Soap Company" was born. Lisa and I knew deep down in our souls that we could cook up soap just as sure as we had cooked up biscuits and gravy, cheese grits and eggs, Granny Pearl's famous chicken and pastry, and Mom's delicious chocolate pies. Along the way, Lisa and I enlisted "soul sisters" in to the ranks of our soap-making family. Some are kin–our youngest sister Judie, oldest sister Kathy, Lisa's daughter Jenn, and my daughter Amanda. We've dubbed others, Carla, Mitch, and Daniela sisters because they love and support us, and they can cook their way around any kitchen. – Susan Gonzalez, Founder & CEO
